About us
Slon Electric is a family run electrical contractor in Myerstown, in the middle of Lebanon County farm country. Anatoly runs the crew and is usually the person who answers the phone.
Our team brings more than eighteen years of hands-on experience to the trade. In that time the work settled into three markets, agricultural, commercial and industrial, and into one habit that matters more than any of them: the crew keeps training. Codes change, equipment changes, and a contractor who stopped learning a decade ago is working from a picture of the trade that no longer matches the buildings.

What we are here for
Mission, goal and the rules we hold ourselves to
Our mission
To keep buildings running for the people whose livelihood is inside them. On a farm that means the birds and the herd. In a plant it means the line and the shift standing in it. In a shop or a store it means the doors opening on time. The electrical work is the means, not the point.
Our goal
To be the contractor people name when somebody else asks who to call. Not the cheapest quote and not the largest company in the county. The one that gets recommended, because the work held and nobody had to ring twice about it.
What we hold to
Work you would put your name to
The test we apply to a job is whether we would be happy for the next electrician to open it up. That decides how it gets wired, how it gets labelled and what we refuse to leave behind.
A crew that keeps learning
Training is continuous here rather than something done once. New code cycles, new equipment, new drive and controller platforms. It is the only way to stay useful to customers whose buildings keep changing.
Our reputation is the asset
It took more than eighteen years in the trade to build and one bad job could damage. That is the calculation behind every decision we make about scheduling, materials and what we are willing to promise.
Straight answers, including the unprofitable ones
We say when a repair will do instead of a replacement, when a job can safely wait until morning, and when somebody closer will reach you faster. Those conversations cost us work and earn the recommendation.
One crew, one person responsible
Anatoly quotes the job and his crew does it. Nothing gets handed to a subcontractor you have never met, and the person who answers when you call afterwards is the person who did the work.
We leave the building documented
Labels, a filled in panel schedule and a record of what went where, left in the panel rather than in a van. It costs us an hour and saves whoever comes next a day.
What we chose to be good at
Most of our work is in buildings where power is not a convenience: poultry houses, dairy barns, grain systems, processing plants and commercial buildings that cannot simply stop for the afternoon. Over more than eighteen years in the trade, that is where this team chose to get good, and everything else about the business points the same way. It is why the phone is covered at night, why the crew trains on controllers and drives rather than only on wiring, and why we would rather turn down a job than take one we cannot do properly.
How we work
- One crew, one person responsible. Anatoly quotes the job and his crew does it.
- We look before we quote. On anything larger than a service call we come out, because guessing at a load or a service size over the phone helps nobody.
- We say when something is a repair. If the panel is sound and the breakers are available, we will tell you that, even when a replacement would be the larger invoice.
- We buy the equipment. Gear, panels, fixtures, generators and controllers come through us, so nobody is chasing a supplier on your behalf.
- We set it up and prove it. Transfer switches run under load, drives configured, alarms made to actually reach somebody.
- We leave a record. Labels, a panel schedule and a note of what went where, in the panel rather than in a van.
- The phone is covered at night. Not as a marketing line, as the reason the listing says open 24 hours.

The rating and the hours come from our Google listing. The rest comes from us, and we would rather say which is which.
Work we have written up
Customer names are not on this website, because most of our farm and plant customers would rather they were not. The write ups describe the building and the work instead.
Why there is a blog on a contractor website
Because the same questions come up every week, and a straight answer is worth more than a brochure. Whether stray voltage is the reason milk is down. Whether a panel needs replacing or repairing. How long a poultry house really has when the fans stop.
If reading one of them saves you a call, that is a fine outcome. If it tells you the job is bigger than you thought, that is a useful outcome too.
